Jin taught Bible, History, and Science at the Eliza Yates School in Shanghai after her graduation from Ginling. In 1928-29, she was a teacher at the Virginia School at Huzhou (Huchow) and the Union Girls’ School in Hangzhou (Hangchow). She was named Dean of the Eliza Yates School in 1932. Later, she became Dean of the Grace School in Shanghai, where she stayed through the 1940s.
